چکیده

This course is devoted to the study of the Foundations of Cyber-Physical Systems [Pla12c, Pla12b]. Lecture 3 on Choice & Control explained hybrid programs, a program notation for hybrid systems [Pla08, Pla10, Pla12c, Pla12a]. Lecture 4 on Safety & Contracts defined differential dynamic logic [Pla08, Pla10, Pla12c, Pla12a] as a specification and verification logic for hybrid programs. Lecture 5 on Dynamical Systems & Dynamic Axioms and subsequent lectures studied proof principles for differential dynamic logic with which we can prove correctness properties of hybrid systems. In your labs, you have demonstrated aptly how you can model, specify, and verify quite sophisticated and challenging robots. Yet, there was one rather puzzling phenomenon that we noticed in Lecture 4 only then did not have a chance to consider any further. For a hybrid program α and differential dynamic logic formula φ, the modal formula

Lecture Notes on Logical Theory & Completeness

This course has studied a number of logics, first-order logic FOL in Lecture 2, differential dynamic logic dL [Pla08, Pla10a, Pla12c, Pla12b] in Lecture 3 and Lecture 4 and following, differential temporal dynamic logic dTL [Pla07, Pla10a, Chapter 4] in Lecture 16 and 17, as well as differential game logic dGL [Pla13] since Lecture 22. There are other logics for cyber-physical systems that have...

Lecture Notes on Differential & Temporal Proofs

This lecture continues the study of temporal aspects of cyber-physical systems that Lecture 16 on Differential & Temporal Logics started. The trace semantics of hybrid programs as well as the semantics of differential temporal dynamic logic (dTL) [Pla10], a temporal extension of differential dynamic logic dL [Pla08, Pla12], have been discussed in said lecture. That was very useful, because dTL ...

Applications of Constructive Logics in Analysis, Verification and Synthesis of Programs

These Lecture Notes describe the approach to the constructive analysis of computation as developed by Pierangelo Miglioli and his school. This Lecture Notes have been produced as the supporting material for the course in the Application of constructive logics to program analysis, synthesis and verification held in November 2006 at the Mathematisches Institut of the Ludwig Maximillians Universit...

Bounded Variable Logics and Counting: A Study in Finite Models

Since their inception, the Perspectives in Logic and Lecture Notes in Logic series have published seminal works by leading logicians. Many of the original books in the series have been unavailable for years, but they are now in print once again. In this volume, the 9th publication in the Lecture Notes in Logic series, Martin Otto gives an introduction to finite model theory that indicates the m...

Temporal logics for specification and verification

Course notes content These course notes contain parts of draft chapters from a book in preparation on “Temporal logics in Computer Science” by Stéphane Demri and myself. Not all material included in the notes will be presented in the course. Some topics (e.g. tableauxbased methods), that are less covered in the literature, and treated in more details in these notes. Because the last topic, on a...
